The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. It is meant for candidates who took part in the university's post-UTME screening, and it names those who have been offered provisional admission into undergraduate courses.
Two ways to check
FUTO gives candidates two official options. You can view the published merit admission list on the university's news portal, https://resources.futo.edu.ng/news/futo-2026-2027-merit-admission-list or you can confirm your own offer on the admission status portal using your JAMB registration number.
To use the status portal:
- Open the FUTO prospective students portal. https://portal.futo.edu.ng/prospective_students
- Select Undergraduate under Student Type.
- Enter your JAMB registration number.
- Click Confirm Status to see your admission offer.
Check the number carefully before you submit it, because the portal uses it to show your result. A wrong digit will give you the wrong answer or none at all.
What to do if you have been admitted
Seeing your name is only the first step. Two more processes follow.
1. Respond on JAMB CAPS. Log in to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and accept or reject the offer. Make this choice carefully. If you accept, download and print your JAMB admission letter, since it is part of the process after acceptance.
2. Complete FUTO's own requirements. Candidates who accept are expected to:
- Pay the acceptance fee
- Register for courses as FUTO directs
- Submit the required documents
- Finish every step within the stated deadlines
Do not let the deadlines slip. Delays can affect your enrolment, so follow the university's instructions at each stage.
A note on where to look
Only trust FUTO's own channels, meaning the published merit list and the prospective students portal. The university has the final say on who is admitted and what is required of them.
