If music is your passion and you want a formal route into teaching it, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has opened applications for its Diploma in Music Education for the 2026/2027 academic session. The programme is run by the Department of Music.
Registration began on September 28, 2026. The department says it is expected to close soon, but it has not given a final date, so interested candidates should not wait.
What it costs to apply
Eligible candidates pay a processing fee of N5,000 through the Remita platform at any commercial bank.
How to apply
The process starts online and ends at the bank:
Visit the UNN website (unn.edu.ng) or the university portal (uniportal.edu.ng).
Log in with your phone number.
Generate and download your invoice. It carries a Remita number.
Take the invoice to any commercial bank and pay the N5,000 processing fee.
Keep your invoice and bank receipt safe after paying, since you may need them later in the process.
Who to contact
For questions about the sale of Diploma forms, reach out to the Department of Music through Mr. Orakwe T.S. on 08063533941. The announcement was signed by the Head of Department, Rev Fr Benedict Agbo, an Assistant Professor.
A quick word to applicants
Because the closing date is unannounced, the safest move is to generate your invoice and pay as early as you can. The notice also does not list entry requirements or how long the programme runs. Before paying, call the department to confirm that you qualify and to ask what the admission process involves after the form is bought.
